Olando Vacation Resorts to Discover
No commentsAs an Orlando vacation resorts devotee, I can recommend all of the theme parks, but did you know the area is brimming with other excellent visitor attractions without a roller coaster in sight. Orlando is also full of lakes, parks, exhibitions, historical places, markets, shops and much more. Whilst many people that visit are first timers, more are returning for their second, third or more time as there is always something new to see.
As one of the most tourist centered cities in the world, Orlando a great deal to offer including large shopping malls, restaurants of every type, night clubs, bars and many specialist shops. An Orlando vacation has far more to offer than this short article can possibly hope to highlight so only a few of the more unusual attractions and places to see are brought to your attention.
Central Florida Zoological Park is one of the major reasons to visit as the zoo is home to more than 400 animals that started out as just a collection in the Sanford Fire Department. It is actually a privately owned charitable group dedicated to the protection of exotic animals plus species that are native to Florida but also offers informative and child-friendly classes and events.
Back in 1942, the Morse Museum of American Art in Winter Park started exhibiting the world’s most extensive collection of the works of Louis Comfort Tiffany. The collection is the most comprehensive anywhere with Tiffany jewelry, art glass, ornaments, pottery, paintings and leaded glass.
No adult, despite any thoughts to the opposite, could go to any of the Orlando vacation resorts and find nothing of interest as the range of attractions for both the young and old is huge. Orlando vacations offer evening entertainment that’s no less interesting with family venues such Pirates Adventure, Medieval Feast to more adult themes such as Disney’s Downtown Pleasure Island open until the early hours.
The Orlando Science Center is another of the major attractions and its four-story center is the biggest of its kind in the Southeast; offering 10 exhibit halls that allow visitors everything from the Florida swamplands to the dry plains of Mars. Then there is the International Trolley and Train Museum where you can see toy trains from the 1920s; plus take a ride in a California Victorian-style half open/half closed trolley car.
For something a little different there’s the Titanic Exhibition which tells the story of the ill fated Ocean Liner performed by a character from the ship; the displays contain some original salvaged items and at times the tour is very moving. Away from all the hustle is the wonderful Lake Eola Park in the heart of downtown; it has beautiful sidewalks in over forty acres where it is possible to spend a few peaceful hours.
However, there aren’t that many visitors who visit Orlando without a trip to one of the four main Disney theme parks or the equally impressive Universal studios; where a person’s age really doesn’t matter. Whatever you want from a vacation, Orlando can supply and you don’t have to work hard at finding it either. Next time you are thinking of spending time in the Orlando vacation resorts, try some of the other attractions, you won’t be disappointed.
